Strategies, analyses and discussions about competitive Pokémon VGC
I build this team so I could try golisapod, but didn't want to use any other famous player's team or any team from tournaments.
Leave your suggestions ,
So I could improve
Mega Eelektross gets a few good coverage moves, and I wanted to use Rising Voltage, because a 140bp move sounded too good to pass on. Also EQ spam with Garchomp as a partner is really good, especially because you have Flamethrower on Eelektross to hit those Ice Types hard.
Pinchurin is there to set up the Electric Terrain and hit some Electrowebs, to help Eelektross outspeed. It is also surprisingly bulky, but I haven't decided what other Item to give it other then Focus Sash (Maybe Terrain Extender?)
Sneasler with Psychic Seed + Unburden hits hard as well. The rest of the Team is just to balance out a few weaknesses
Problematic Pokémon/Cores: Fairy Types are rough, because Eelektross without a Boost can't OHKO nothing.
Difficult Archetypes: Trick Room, some Charyzard Y Teams, Mega Golisopod Rain
Which EV spreads, moves, or items could be optimized?
Which slot would you consider replacing to improve team coverage?
I haven't played a huge number of games yet, but I'm liking the way the team plays. Still thinking about swapping Arcaninie for Incin.
Also I couldn't select moves for the Arc in the Team builder for whatever reason, so here it is: Flare Blitz, Rock Slide, Extreme Speed, Protect.
Any feedback would be appreciated :)
Milotic Isnt pretty good without competitive boost and primarina gives another resistance to fight, bug and only has 1 additional weakness which is poison. Incineroar gives the team 2 intimidates to play with primarina calm mind and leave her in the field forever, Although primarina still dies to wood hammer from rillaboom but you can trade with flare blitz, adamant expert belt incin kills max hp kingambit, rillaboom, golisopod under rain, opposing gholdengos and has enough speed to throat chop salamence with you have tailwind.
If they lead Basculegion + Whimsicot (which is pretty common against this team) Incin +Gholdengo >switch in salamence for double intimidate and nasty plot from there you can try to match tailwind or bet if they gonna moonblast you or not (most of the times I switch incin back in or something else and play from behind leaving the whimsicot there she cant touch gholdengo or encore him.
Against Salamence + Sneansler I go with Gholdengo/Primarina + Salamence/Incin again here you already EV to not die to jolly sneansler direclaw so your biggest problem will be fake out + tailwind if u have gholdengo but you can lead primarina and moonblast him, if they fake out you is a problem too. Most of the times u want to play Incin + Gholdengo and fake out the opposing salamence, u cant do that if they are white herb though other way is to play primarina and salamence and accept you gonna lose one of them to get the opposing salamence.
Psyspam is quite easy with 2 dark types on the team and incin is slower than gardevoir so u can throat chop her and you knock off mega indeede she dies. Armarouge can't touch you either, problem here might be seed sneansler in which I advise to switch Ttar into salamence for double intimidate and Flare blitz him after -1 def they always die and they will have -2 atk and now ur problem is follow me with hyper voice gard which you can wall with gholdengo resists both fairy and psichich dmg. 1 make it rain + sand chip if dont get both will get 1 of them. after stalling the TR they auto lose.
Biggest problems with this team: 4 weakness to ground, Basculegion ahead in speed, Dragapult and rain teams with swampert.
This is the first team I've made for M-C, and I would like to know if anyone has any advice on how to make it better.
Absol's huge Damage and Espathra pass the boost to Mega Delphox
Problematic Pokémon/Cores: Trick Room and other Hyper Offensive teams
Difficult Archetypes: Hard Trick Room, Dark types
Which EV spreads, moves, or items could be optimized?
Which slot would you consider replacing to improve team coverage?
Its a shenanigan I have just won for 2 matches in Champions and got destroyed my trick room teams in Showdown
This is the first team I've built. How can I improve it? I'm open to any suggestions.
It's a rain-focused team, and I tried to adapt it to the M-C ruleset.i tried to make a team for m-c before even playing it and i wanted to know if is any good. tbh i think the team has all mons that will be meta this regulation. (btw i don't know why but floette and golispod don't have the mega in the team viewer but they do in reality, so count them with tough claws and aura vail) thx for thr help in advanceee!!!
I tried using a team from Justin Tang with
Rillaboom @ Miracle Seed
Ability: Grassy Surge
EVs: 32 HP / 24 Atk / 1 Def / 1 SpD / 8 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Fake Out
- Wood Hammer
- Grassy Glide
- High Horsepower
Blastoise-Mega @ Blastoisinite
Ability: Mega Launcher
EVs: 22 HP / 25 SpA / 19 Spe
Modest Nature
- Shell Smash
- Terrain Pulse
- Water Spout
- Protect
for garchomp and whims but i was struggling with rain, charizard z and some random teams that you usually meet in great ball lol.
i’m SUPER new (like less than a week new) so any help would be appreciated. I’m not sure if this team has any synergy, if it has enough coverage etc. etc.
Which EV spreads, moves, or items could be optimized?
Which slot would you consider replacing to improve team coverage?
First, I think switching to earth power > powergem on z-chomp is more worth it, since things I'd hit with pg can get nuked by draco (mega bax, mega mence) and I still can knock y-zard out the skies with mega dactyl, or flip the speed prio with indeedee trick room. Thoughts?
Second and more glaring, is the fairy weakness; I've had problems consistently dealing with floette and gardevoir, who's seen resurgance with psychic terrain + expanding force. Sneasler doesnt like the garde matchup, and gambit takes neu from both so at best those 2 have "even" matchups.
Any suggestions regarding the fairy problem would be appreciated, I'm thinking incin > gambit but then ghost matchups get iffy imo.
EDIT!!! --> aero has unnerve dunno why it says rock head, not that it really matters
Just want your opinion on the team and if there is any fixes or change to make on the team I saw this team on the ladder and was wondering if its any good.
Team aims to set up Psychic Terrain with Indeedee and click Expanding Force with Alakazam. Sneasler with psychic seed is there to pressure faster Pokémon and finish weakend Pokémon after Alakazam's damage. Blaziken is chosen as Mega when facing strong dark types like Kingambit and Incineroar or when there are multiple psychic resists. Milotic is there to provide some speed control and pressures strong Dragon types.
Problematic Pokémon/Cores: Basculegion, fast physical attackers
Difficult Archetypes: Trick room
In particular the Slyveon slot I am not sure about. I was considering Hydragon for a better matchup against Trick Room. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
Something is missing in this team for me so any advise or ideas I am happy for.
I used this team to get to Master Ball.
My take on a Toxtricity-centered team for Pokémon Champions Regulation M-C. The team uses Toxtricity as its main special damage dealer, with Rillaboom providing Grassy Terrain and Fake Out support while also reducing the damage from Toxtricity's 4× Ground weakness. Farigiraf provides Trick Room and priority protection, while Noivern offers Tailwind and Telepathy to safely support Toxtricity's Boomburst. Mega Golisopod gives the team a strong physical attacker, and Choice Scarf Hisuian Zoroark provides fast speed control through Icy Wind alongside Snarl and additional spread pressure.
Would appreciate your thoughts
This is a mega raichu y mega staraptor team that I feel is pretty good but could be better. Any advice?
I'm trying to build a team centered around mega salamence supported by pokemon like gholdengo and sand rush excadrill to take care of possible mega mence counters such as mega floette, mega froslass, etc.
Ttar is there as a sand setter for excadrill and as a secondary mega for weather war matchups. Occasionally, I'd only use normal salamence as an intimidate pokemon and tailwind setter. Sometimes I'd lead with mence and ttar and decide which mega to use depending on the matchup.
However, I've come across a few problems:
I struggle against trick room teams as I have no way to prevent or reverse trick room. My pokemons aren't really tanky besides from ttar and that's it.
Wide guard negates spread damage from ttar, mence and drill.
A good rain player (i hope no one plays it anymore cuz of rillaboom) can shut down my sand team
