Team Review - SUN TEAM - Mega Charyzard Y

Hello everyone, I would like to request a review for this team.

My main questions when playing with it are finding the right first pick, I feel like always loosing first pick guess in many situations like against another sun team or mega gengar teams.

Also, I lack vision regarding keeping the sun on the field and properly using it, how to handle "slow tempo" when ennemy cycle protect and such.

I don't have much experience with incineroar, I used kingambit before but I feel like incineroar can bring more support for my damage dealers, where kingambit often just died too quickly.

As a last note, I'm not sure about the stats Whimsicott is best with, I played it speed and SpA, but I almost never find an important moment in the game (almost everytime in the first turns) where these two stats make a difference, because of prankster and tailwind, so I will try a few matches with a bulkier stat spread and see if it gives me a better advantage.

Probably the problem with your team is you don't have a good answer for fire types and ghosts. Maybe add a Basculegion on the team to create opportunities to get a KO on enemy zard. Having 3 grass Pokémon may have made you feel weak against the sun

I like basculegion and I was thinking on how to put it in the team but I didn't find a good switch for him

In my opinion meowscarad with throat chope is a decent answer to ghost type, I can't think of a ghost type that requires to specifically use super effective moves, most of them I can deal with strong stab moves like heat wave or Sludge bomb with venusaur, which is mvp of the team btw cause of it's speed it can often kill major threats to my Charizard for exemple before anyone can move, so removing it is a bit of a downgrade to me...

It has earth power for fire types as well, at the same time garchomp has rock slide for other Charizard

I'm also worried about basculegion having his water moves too weak under the sun

I admit that kingambit is still solid, I said it often died too quickly but there have been a few cases where sucker punch alone or cycling with kowtow cleave and protect made me take the advantage

Also I noticed you replaced air cutter with weather ball, do u think it's powerful enough to offset the flying coverage? It was quite helpful when dealing with grass or fighting types, but weather ball is 100 accuracy and air cutter is not, and I know it makes a difference lol

About Weather Ball, its the best move for Charizard when its in the sun. Normally, Charizard does not run a flying move, fighting types don't have a good defense, and 1x attacks are enough. Basculegion lost power in the sun but probably is the most offensive water pokemon in the meta and can use Last Respects to find easy kills in late game

Okay I see, it makes sense to run weather ball then

I haven't come across many Basculegion for now, I'm only in mid ultra ball rank, but I might need to start using it in my team cause a fast sweeper could be useful, meowscarad sometimed lack power to revenge kill or just ohko on normal effective hits depending on the target of course

Basculegion is probably the most used pokemon since Pokémon Champions launched. Is really good pokemon
